Okay, another trip outside of the small business marketing realm. But, this is kind of fun so I figured I would pass it on. I came across the Gender Genie while doing some research for an upcoming post on writing styles. The Gender Genie will tell you if you sound like a male or female when you blog. You simply paste in the content of a recent post, select a genre, and the Genie will predict your gender.
I tried out my recent “What Happens If I Stop Doing This” post to see what the Genie would say. Here was my score:
Female Score: 342
Male Score: 426
So, I’m barely male. Not sure what to think of that. But, maybe this means I appeal to both genders with my writing!
Check it out and let’s see how accurate the Genie is. Anyone come up with some crazy results?

Writing For The Kids…
Specifically, anyone who creates marketing tools is part of the target audience. If you’re a small business owner or a marketing blogger, a marketing student or an educator or marketing students, this is for you….
Great… I’m male when I write at the Internet Marketing Monitor… but I’m a girl when I write on my personal blog.
That’s just what I’ve always aspired to become… multi-gendered.
[…] According to the Gender Genie, I’m a boy when I write at work and I’m a girl when I write here. What is the Gender Genie, you say? It’s an interesting little toy that tries to guess your gender by the way you write. Simply copy and paste something you’ve written (like a blog post) into the box and click “Submit”. What does the Gender Genie say about your writing? Are you lucky enough to be multi-gendered like me? Since I’m a girl at home I guess I’d better go paint my fingernails and talk about boys… or something. Thanks to Patrick Schaber for the link. Share This or Sphere It […]
Hey Derick,
Thanks for stopping by and picking up the post. Sorry about the multi-gendered aspect. Hopefully this means both men and women will be drawn to your writing!
